People pay hundreds of pounds and trek for hours to see Uganda and Rwanda's mountain gorillas. But for a park fee of around £2 and a short stroll through the woods you get to see the almost as rare Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey (Procolobus Kirkii). With their beautiful red coats and cheeky nature, they enthralled us in Jozani Forest, a short drive from Stonetown - and the only place on earth where they live.
And did you know, according to research by TT Struhsaker in the International Journal of Primatology, they're the only primate aside from humans known to eat charcoal in the wild? No, neither did I. It's been almost a year coming - but that's moderately interesting fact number eight.
